remember that thing we called the “Cuban Missile Crisis?”

we have been actively searching for suckers close to Russian territory for a long while. the idea is simple: place US early warning stations and anti-ICBM weapons close to Russia. that’s a huge advantage and much easier for us to deal with Russian missiles within a few dozen miles away from their border instead of from halfway around the world.

not surprisingly it kinda angered the Russians. if i remember correctly we were kinda mad at them and the Cubans in the early 1960s for, uh, i dunno. commies trying to place missile bases within a hundred miles of Florida… or something?

tactical advantage is the bottom line why we have been supporting the Georgians. unfortunately for us after becoming too cozy- arming and training them, they got a little too big for their britches and decided to muck around in local disputed territories with their neighbors.

they got their asses kicked.

i expect the Russians are not going to back down or let up. in a way i can’t say i blame them. after all we would have done the same thing to Cuba had the situation escalated. the Russians are stopping us from building bases in their backyard by invading and crushing Georgia.

but that’s okay. Poland just signed a deal to let us place early warning stations and military bases on their soil within a hundred miles of Russia. so who needs those pesky Georgians anyway? send ‘em all back to peanut farming in Atlanta!

you need an extra o on too, br0. i know it isn’t much but i try to help out when i can. the quality of feedback you dish out is far superior but then again i am not as good a writer as yourself. i’ll have to settle for simple spelling errors and typos i guess.

my room mate Samson is a mathmetician. he’s got more graduate degrees than you and i combined will ever earn. he recently was visited by the JWs who mentioned that my house was put on the taboo list- they should never come back here. that’s probably because i scared them last time. interestingly they wanted to know if the same person or persons still lived here to which Samson replied yes. those JWs just can’t stay down when they’ve been beaten but anyway i’m already getting way off the subject here.

Samson decided to tangle with the JWs himself for a change rather than leaving the dirty work to me (which i enjoy). he dealt with them from a math perspective. he asked them out of all the doors they knock on, how many people actually answer when they come calling.

he asked the following questions:

what percentage of houses that you knock on the door have someone home at that time? out of the people that are home how many actually answer the door?
A:1 out of 5 come to the door.

That’s 20% meaning 80% of the people who were home ignored the JWs.

out of the people who answered the door how many of the actually talk to you or accept your literature?
A: 1 out of 5 (4%)

how many people beyond that point will actually talk to you about JW religion?
A: 1 out of 4 (1%)

out of those people how many do you actually get to come to your church?
A: 1 out of 5 (0.2%)

Samson ran the math for them as they answered each of his questions, and his math is generally correct. when he got the JWs down to a fraction of a percent they were fairly demoralized.

i don’t think they will be back again.
